SWAP SHOP: poetry workshop with open mic

This is an experimental workshop with a performance and open mic based on the poetic voice. Then, choose someone else to read your poem.

The idea of the event is that you will select someone you know to read your poem. It could be someone you think would compliment or draw something new from your work. It may be that you meet someone who you would like to connect with or have a shared experience with. Someone you ask who would like the challenge of reading in front of people. Maybe you’d like to hear your work read but aren’t ready to do it yourself. Or, just someone you ask for a laugh!

On the day we will be holding a workshop about the voice, how to recognise, think about and develop what makes your voice yours - in the reading, or in the content, or anything else.

The workshop starts at 2.30pm. Reading - from 4pm.
