Untravell’d Worlds

Yet all experience is an arch wherethro'
Gleams that untravell'd world whose margin fades
For ever and forever when I move.
Ulysses, Alfred Lord Tennyson
These works are an exploration. They speak of a familiar landscape, a season, a moment. The thoughts and feelings of a landscape familiar yet not. A memory of a fleeting moment.
My work is inspired by poetry and memory, at times a personal memory like a city, a landscape or seascape and at other times built upon more abstract foundations like cultural memory. The blues can be the sea or Persian turquoise, the reds the sky, enlightenment. Horizontal lines may be the horizon or keys to other layers, untravell’ed worlds.
